The fair print.

1. About these terms

These terms cover the Offcut website and the clipping tool it runs in your browser (together, “Offcut”). Offcut is run by Suvraneel Paul in India (“we”, “us”). By using Offcut, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

2. Free to use

Offcut is free. There’s no subscription and no account. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and because it is still being built, parts of it may be missing, slow or broken.

3. Your videos and clips

4. Fair use of the site

Please don’t:

We may block requests that do these things.

5. Open-source code

Offcut’s source code is published under its own open-source licence, which you’ll find in the code repository (Apache License 2.0). That licence governs how you can copy and change the code. These terms govern the website we run.

6. Other services

Offcut relies on other services: Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the Turnstile bot check, and your browser downloads AI models from Hugging Face. Those services have their own terms. How data flows to them is explained in our privacy policy.

7. Ads

There are no ads yet. Later, Offcut may show display ads (from Google AdSense) on the processing screen and offer optional rewarded ads to unlock extras. Ads will never be required to download a clip and will never get access to your videos. We’ll update these terms and the privacy policy before ads go live.

8. No warranty

Offcut is provided “as is”, without any promise that it will work for your purpose, be available all the time, or be free of errors. Keep your own copy of your original videos; Offcut never edits them, but no software is perfect.

9. Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, lost data, lost earnings or problems caused by how you use your clips. Because Offcut is free, if we are found responsible for anything, our total liability is limited to ₹500. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.

10. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and using Offcut after a change means you accept it. You can stop using Offcut at any time. We may stop running it, though the open-source code stays available to anyone.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts of West Bengal, unless the law gives you the right to go to a court closer to you.
